Asus have announced the latest Windows Mobile Pro handset – the Asus P552w. This uses an Asus designed 3D UI and has an amazingly powerful CPU plus GPS and Wi-Fi capability. The phone seems to be blessed with everything you could ask for apart from a half decent camera it seems. Strange when its rival is the Apple iPhone.
Coming in slightly bigger, but crucially lighter than the HTC Touch Diamond it boasts a TFT screen, Bluetooth and a microSD slot. It also has support for tri band and HSDPA for high speed internet access.
Software wise it has some nifty Google integration with a search bar on the Today screen and Google Maps that has a feature that allows location sending with messages. Running on the latest version of Windows Mobile Pro 6.1 it really is an amzing device, but it is let down by a 2 megapixel camera, however it does do video.
It should come in two colours, black or white. As yet there is not any news on the actual availability yet.
