Many sites have been doing unboxing videos on new products for a while, but these have really begun to take off in a big way and this has not gone unnoticed by the BBC who has actually written an article about their popularity.
Essentially they can become extremely good link bait for your site. What this means is that your video becomes very popular and more and more people link to it on your site and suddenly you have a spike in traffic.
Right what I want to do is an unboxing video for an Audi R8. I can take delivery of it, unbox it and review it in immense detail. You know it would be great. Sadly I can’t imagine Audi wanting to do that. But the resulting crash from going too fast would make awesome link bait.
